Presentation by Councilperson Black:
As an effort to provide appropriate guidance for future development in our neighborhood, University Hills North, our Councilperson Kendra Black has submitted a petition to rezone multiple properties within our boundaries. These rezonings align with the Near Southeast Neighborhood Plan (2nd draft available here) that we’ve been working on for over 2 years and would benefit our neighborhood greatly. There will be opportunity at this meeting to ask pertinent questions regarding the rezoning petition and the Near Southeast NPI.
We will have a vote to approve submitting a letter of support for these rezonings, for voting members, after her presentation. If you’d like to submit your vote but can not attend in person, votes will be accepted but must be received by 6pm on the 21st of March. If you need more information to vote please email us separately for the Councilperson’s presentation provided on Feb 16th.
Councilwoman Black will also introduce a plan to give Wellshire Golf Course a historic designation.

Things to know now:
Denver is still trying to create an effective Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) plan, learn more or provide your feedback here.
Denver’s waste program is expanding to include weekly composting and recycling for free. There is a caveat however, you’ll need to pay for trash. Their website will provide much better information than we could.
As always if you need the city to address an issue of any kind calling 311 or going to https://www.denvergov.org/pocketgov/#/ is the most effective way to get a response. The more requests they get for the same problem the more likely they’ll address it quicker (tell your friends and neighbors to call too in order to get a better response).
Please join us on the 21st. We look forward to seeing you,
Jenny and Liz, co-presidents
